Eat My Goal

Josh's new found love of all things football started during the World Cup, I think he watched every match and even chose football over Power Rangers!! He is proficient in using the phrases 'Eat my Goal' and 'On My Head Son' and prefers the goal keeping position...

It does mean that every visitor ( I would say guest but it's normally Jim, or as Jared would say 'Im) gets dragged into the garden so that Josh can show off his goalkeeping prowess. I think that Jim secretly enjoys it as it allows him to show off his silky smooth ball control (!) and (hopefully) impress a 4 year old :)

Even Jared has mastered the word 'Goal' but it may take a little longer to recognise that hand balls are strictly verboten in the game (Unless they can be blamed on a heavenly interuption and as Jared is of course, a little angel, perhaps he just may get away with it....)

So....as promised, I took pictures of the cards that I have been making, the first is a card from Mum and Dad to Nan and Grandad to celebrate their 67th (!) wedding anniversary. The second is for Jason's Nan who is 70 on Saturday. It was based upon a template challenge issued on the Crafts by Carolyn forum....

There are a few more card to upload (I appear to have been busy :)) but some can only be shown after the weekend to ensure they are well hidden from the recipient's eyes :)

Walking in a Winter Wonderland...

So you may have noticed that I have finally managed to add some of my recent 'little pieces of art' to the right of this waffle. Mad as it may seem, the demand for Christmas toppers starts earlier each year, hence the abundance of Christmas toppers.... It started last month though when I was asked to make some cards for Papercraft Inspirations Magazine... I actually also made two cards tonight *faints* I will take piccies tomorrow....

I guess that's it now, its Santa, Snow, Reindeers and the like all the way until December :) My crafting corner ² will be awash in a sea of red and green for the forseeable future... May have to slip in some pink cardstock somewhere though. I like pink cardstock. It is warm.

... ok so the only reference relevant in the song title is the 'run' part but I have so wanted to use this song for aaaages! In case you don't know, its probably the best song ever by Iron Maiden. Anyway enough waffling.... Josh had his sports day yesterday - piccies below, It was too hot but the children were to use a Josh phrase ' super extra well' catered for with yummy drinks and ice pops. Jared also managed to endulge although was not a happy bunny at the time of photo taking...

Josh came third in one race, and received a medal. Jase declined the offer of the parents race so I had to participate, luckily remembered to wear trainers incase and...... Josh and I won! It was the egg and spoon race incase the piccie is not too clear¶. The last race that I attempted to win was the Wheelbarrow race at Frogwell hmm a few years ago now....

Neun und Neunzig Luftballoons...

... or just a few green ones anyway :) All balloons go pop or deflate but most were helped today (in our house) by Jared stomping on them, he didn't quite get the playing with them thing... All things in Jared's eyes are currently meant to be stomped on!

Had a fabby day today with Josh's school sports afternoon and then tea at Mum and Dad's... photos will follow tomorrow, gonna try and persuade Josh that he does need to sleep this evening and then curl up on the sofa and gaze at the telebox for a while :)

Happy Birthday To You!

Jared is two today *Yay* We actually celebrated his birthday yesterday as it was easier for people to visit on a non work day :) We had a big bbq bash type thing with friends and family and athough the weather is hot *melts* and is apparently gonna get hotter, I think that all had a good time.

Jared has not seemed to be bothered by the celebrations in his honour but has carried on as normal albeit to stop occasionally for offerings of cake and icecream - too hot to eat much else :)
He is quite interested however, in the balloons that as if by magic appeared to decorate the house. I may get some down tomorrow for him *rushes off to find ear plugs in anticiption of big bangy noises*

In the Summertime...

What's that coming over the hill...

...is it a monster? - not just the name of Josh's favourite song but seems as if it was also written for Jared.

After an evening in the garden upsetting the newly filled* cat's water tray so that he could make footprints.... (scarily remiscent of the shape that a baby yeti might make).

*Mum is insistant upon cleaning and refilling the cat's water each time that she visits even though she has been told that the cats will turn their noses up at it for at least a week and annoy the neighbours by drinking from their bird bath. (Mum is however a great help and we all love her *hugs* )

Apparently animals poo when they are frightened and the snail that Jared found is proof of this....! How can something so tiny make such a big poo? Anyway Jared was very excited by the new addition to his pet that he used his finger to collect some and chase his brother around the garden. (Hope you weren't eating whilst reading this *grins*)

Josh had to become a pirate today (for school not something that we decided lol) I'm not sure if it is in celebration of the release of Pirates of the Carribean (featuring the almighty Jack Sparrow) or just something that they decided to do.

Anyhoo I have added the pictures of him just before he left for school for your perusal. Not sure what he had in mind for Jared but I'm sure that a class of 20 4 yr olds will all have fun with swords, hooks and knives. Yo ho ho.
