Beady Eyed
Well this week is my dare (Saffa). Its quite a simple challenge really. All I ask is that you make use of beads on your cards. They can be seed beads, big chunky beads or little sequins, whatever takes your fancy.
Phew! there is a sequin option which I eagerly jumped upon as beads are so not my forté!
All the paper is from one of Kirsty's most mavellous digi kits - Moulin Rouge.
Queen and Co mini Brads and Sequins, Paper Ribbon from Paperchase Prima Flower and Bazzill Brad. The overlay around the edge of the card is from A Spoonful Of Sprinkles.
It is fab to have the very talented Sheila joining us as a guest designer, she is the most amazing stamper and papercrafter and her cards are always fantastic!
Make sure you check out the other DT cards over on the blog :)
Today is Lythan's Birthday....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
And I made this *grins*
I am so glad that Lythan liked it :) I used the CPS 19 sketch as a template.
and.... Yesterday was Jase's step-niece's Birthday so I made this for her :) - I used Sue's template from the JustBex forum...

Hi, its Rhi here his week! Wow! What an amazing response for Lythan's {EM}Boss Dare and the FABULOUS little extra. It's great to see so many inspired cardmakers, thank you to each and every one of you who has joined in and shared your creation.
Now onto this weeks dare...
Everything we buy has packaging, some of it excessive, some of it beautifully designed. Tags, labels, stickers... all sorts of bits and bobs that we can recycle onto cards.
I dare you to make a card using a tag, label, sticker or anything else you can find, thats from packaging and would normally end up in the bin. Of course you can ink it, change it, distress it and add anything else you like!
If you're feeling brave, I DOUBLE DARE you to make it a card for a man!
I didn't fit in the bit for a man lol but did finally have a reason to use a chipboard tag that started life as a clothing label from George.
Paper is all downloaded from 2peas, I think it is their June freebie kit, Doodling, Bazzill brads and Prima flower from rachie's shop, Ribbon from little silver hat, Queen and Co Sequin and mini Brad.
TFL :)
Lilybean's Challenge...
I found a fabbo challenge over on Melissa Phillip's blog, she makes the most amazing cards and altered bits, they are all so beautiful :)
The challenge was;
Make a card containing my favorite things:
Buttons
Polka-dots
Ribbon
Chipboard
a Heart
I made this;
Polka Dot Ribbon
Chipboard covered and cut with my Cuttlebug
A Heart Brad
A Turquoise Button
Paper and ribbon is from Paperchase, Prima Flower, Papermania Brads, DMC Memory thread, Inking and Hand Stitching.

I will leave you with Josh's favourite joke;

Me; Who's there?
Josh; Frank
Me; Frank Who?
Josh; Frank Carrot (or insert any other irrelevant word)
Cue hysterical laughter from Josh, I guess you have to be 5 :)

*Swoons*
I celebrated Father's Day today with my Dad as tomorrow's schedule for both is a little hectic. I made him this...
In a retro stylie :) I used a cuttlebug embossing folder, papers from a self addressed kit, stitching and inking. The rather fab image and font are from Tack-o-rama. There are so many cool images and fonts there :)
With the boys help, I also got Dad a few bits and pieces including a fabby orange lanyard to keep his keys on, emblazoned with the words 'World's Best Dad', I am sure that he loved it :) We got Jase one too so will photo tomorrow. Joshie wanted to get Dad Budweiser and Smarties so I compromised with a nice bottle of vino and some liquorice allsorts :) Oh and some flowers cos we all decided that it would be nice :)

You're not the (em)boss of me
Perhaps that was the intention lol....
Anyhoo...
Hi there playmates, its Lythan here!
Doing these dares is such a joy. We all love seeing what you create so much. The way that you have taken up and run with both the Celestial dare and the Midweek extra this week has just been awesome.
As a reward - and as I was so strict last time I set a dare - here is a nice broad theme to get your creative juices flowing.
Embossing.
Dry embossing with a light box or with a die cutting machine.
Using embossing powders or triple embossing.
Using pre-embossed papers.
Embossing with found items.
Just have fun playing!
And as I can't resist being a little (em)bossy - why not see if you can get more than one emboss technique on your card?
Fantastic to have a new guest designer this week - Leo, check out her blog, she has the most yummy cards there and... we have a bonus card from our Guest Designer Kirsty. Brilliant.
And on to my card, Jared kindly emptied my scant supply of embossing powder into a tea cup a while back, christening it 'Sugar'. Don't have any of those brass stencil thingys, no UTEE either so made an emergency cuttlebug purchase lol...
Paperchase papers and ribbon, inc the Owl and Leaves that I cut out :) Bazzill Brad and Primas which came already embossed :) Does that count as more than one embossed bit?... from Rachie's shop, Queen & Co Sequins, and of course, my new embossing folder to make the background.
My 'B' plates shattered last week so embossing using the Cuttlebug was a little tricky, just to say that the Customer Service from Provocraft for those of us in the UK is shabby, but that is a whole other story as they say!
Had some good exciting crafty news last night aha I *lubs* secrets lol.

Man Cards...

and the card? Well it ties in nicely with the DCM little extra this week;
This week we have a recipe challenge for the Little Extra. There's an old rhyme that tells brides what they should wear on their wedding day to be sure of good luck, it goes:
Something Old
Something New
Something Borrowed
and Something Blue
This week we'd like you to incorporate these four things into your card -
It doesn't have to be a Wedding card, despite the verse - just as long as your card features each of those things on it.
Borrowed could be borrowed from another card, some ribbon from a chocolate box, a tiny piece "borrowed" from a child's hair ribbon, even a postage stamp from an old envelope, it could also be an item or technique borrowed from a different crafty sphere...And before you ask - whilst you're allowed to use a sewing machine to make your card - it CAN'T be your borrowed item - as that would be just TOO EASY and this is supposed to be a challenge, isn't it! hehehe
Something Old....... Buttons from a Charity Shop
Something New....... Fantastic new today digi papers
Something Borrowed.. Aha Kathy - I used HAND stitching as machine is banned...
Something Blue...... Colour of the paper.

You can download them via her blog.
and I made this card with a homemade skull and boney bits using Di Hickman's sketch;
and Jared made this;

Yay!
Not long before his bro got in on the act :)
Ambulance...
Completely overdosed on reality TV - Got bored of Joseph after Daniel got knocked out but I suppose that the most suited person won. Had no interest in Grease, they were all a bit pants IMO but did actually like Britain's Got Talent, 'twas good that they actually focused on the good people rather than the complete nutters/untalented and watched at Big Brother :)
Josh spent most of yesterday telling us not to blink
and we potted lots of plants. Mine are not the greenest of fingers, infact probably as far removed from green as is possible but, hopefully, we shall be able to reap lots of lovely herbs, chillies, peppers and eggplants in the coming weeks. I did toy with the idea of tomatoes but they are just the right size and colour to attract little Jared hands...
Nan is back in the Hospital so I made her this, based on the CPS 16 Sketch
I thought that a nice funky card would brighten her day, hope she likes it!
Homemade ambulance, Bazzill Brads and Prima Flowers from my lovely sister's shop, Bazzill card and Paperchase papers, Queen & Co Sequins, Hand stitching and Inking.

Celestial
'Hi it's Keryn here and it's my turn to set the dare this week. This time I asked my family for ideas for this weeks dare and the best amongst a lot of ideas including power tools etc, etc was Lachlan's ideas for Space. It's been his topic at school this term. (Lachlan is seven and in Year 3). To make in a little easier on you all I've called it Celestial to also include horoscopes as well as planets, spaceships, stars, suns etc. How you use these items is up to you'.
I made this;
Using a star to base the card around, it is destined to be a birthday card for a female teenage goth...
Papers are Bazzill and Paperchase, Homemade faux chipboard arrow and star, Prima flowers, Bazzill brads, Papermania Eyelet, Staples, MM Clip, Printed sentiment, Hand Stiching, Doodling and Inking...
It is fabulous to again have Kirsty Wiseman as a Guest Designer for the DCM team. Don't forget to check out the amazing creations that the other team members have made HERE.
Hurrah!
So what have I been up to?
Well..... I missed the little extra this week, I made a card for it to celebrate Rachie and John's anniversary...
Using no glue *insert shocked expression!* I used eyelets, brads, staples and stitching. Paper is Scenic Route, Little Silver Hat ribbon, Doodlebug rub ons and Queen & Co Sequins...
Also made this one for my Nan and Grandad to give to them;
More Little Silver Hat ribbon, 7Gypsies and Scenic Route papers, die cut hearts, American Crafts rub on, hand written sentiment and paper clips...
and made this little number - not for any particular purpose :)
More Scenic Route papers, Provocraft chipboard, Papermania Brads, stitching and staples.
Had to get Jase to take my piccie this week for reasons that I can not yet disclose... After about 9 million snaps, I found one that I do not hate as much as the others lol... finally having a piccie of me meant that I could do this with it too...( I know that it has been around for ages but didn't have a piccie of me to do it with....)

My photography skills are somewhat pants but the prompt today means that I can also share the rather bizarrely named milkshakes that they sell at our swimming baths...
A few piccies...
Bundles on Jamie...
and Jared...
and trying on of glasses...
Joshie snapped Claire...
After wine, Claire attempted to write Josh's name...

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Can See Clearly Now...
Kel says; *Okay, this week I would like you to use some acetate, vellum, plasma or anything else remotely 'see-through' on your card. That's it!*
Blogger was not being anyone's friend this morning but Jane was a superstar and managed to fix the rather large malfunction that Blogger created - Jane you did good :)
Blogger is all fixed so head on over and check out the marvellous little pieces of art that the Design Team have created... It is also most fab to have the v talented Kirsty Wiseman as our guest designer for the next couple of weeks :)
Here is my contribution...
I used... Dovecraft and Kirsty's digi kit papers, Cuttlebug aeroplane and flowers, Fun Foam, Charity Shop button, ACETATE queen & co swirly shapes and hand stitching....
I also made this little number with Kirsty's kit;
I added, American Craft rub ons, Papermania brads and Poundland and Cuttlebug flowers.
