Docrafts...

I recently received the most wonderful parcel full of new wedding stamps and products from Docrafts and have been asked to make some cards for their fantastic magazine :) You can see all the new items that they have released here

I made a couple of wedding themed cards - not traditional! Using some of the new stamps...

Additions were 3 primas and poundland bling - I think it was from Swindon store. Everything else is Docrafts :)

I got this fabulous award from Trina last week :) Thank you so much! I have to nominate more bloggers for the award but I am sure that most of you have the award now and there are so many excellent blogs out there - consider yourself awarded if you are reading this!....I would like to name one blog though - Essentially Em :) Em makes the most fantastic cards, scrapbook pages and altered bits and bobs and she blogged the most amazing things about my cards (and a roll of bounty) rofl! *waves across town @ Em*

I am Woman

The luscious Lythan's turn to dare this week;

My theme this week is

I am woman

As its coming up to Mothers day in the UK here’s a chance to make a card that celebrates women and girls . So I’d like to see a card with at least one feminine image on it . And that's it for rules really.
Apart from this one.
And it is sneaky.
No Tildas, Sugar Nellies or Bellas please. I love them all. But there are loads of great challenges out there using them so for this challenge you can give them a well earned rest!

Loosely interpreting the theme by using a bird as in 'bird or bloke' tee hee. I used Speing Fling papers and embellishments, Doodleblack alphabet and Lovebird doodles all from the Lilypad and some spotty ribbon from Paperarts.

Plastic Fantastic

A rather poorly episode last week meant that Mum and Dad had to step in to rescue the children, all ok now though :)... and catching up, starting with Rhi's wonderful plastic dare...

This week it's Rhi here to dare you and I'm on a recycling mission. I dare you to look again at the plastic packaging around you and transform it into a brand new card. It could be food packaging, craft packaging or just something plastic that's destined for the bin or recycling. Trim it, die cut it, alcohol ink it, crop-o-dile it, give it a new lease of life then share it via your blog for us all to see. Happy Recycling!

So going back to my youth, I melted a strawberry yogurt pot in the oven, we used to make key rings out of them... You need a normal plastic pot, stick it upside down, on a baking tray, in the oven on a really low temp, I used gas mark 1. Wait until it has shrunk then take it out and drop a hefty book on it (I utillised the Argos catalogue :)) Melted yogurt pot. Done.

Other bits and bobs used were;
Basic Grey paper - I think it is Scarlet's letter
Prima flowers
Papermania brad
Creative Impressions ribbon
Printed sentiment and strawberries
Doodling (lots of) and inking.

The tooth fairy....

...visited at the weekend :) After about 3 weeks of wobbling, prodding and pushing, Josh finally lost his first tooth. I made this for him - at the request of the tooth fairy of course :)

and Josh's egg came back from school for a home visit...

Jase helped with the painting - à la the Madagascar penguins - *smile and wave boys*

not too sure what to do with it as Josh has been looking after it for over a week now - it's got to start being stinky at some point?!

and Jared has been a dragon at school for their Fairytale Wedding :)

Love and Friendship

This week's dare is a special dare sponsored by our very own resident Stampin' Up! demonstrators Rachel and Keryn, they supplied the very yummy stash for us to work with and I made this;

Rachel stamped the hearts - thank you! as I am probably the world's worst stamper...Everything is SU apart from the doodles and inking that I added :)

Rachel Young, Michelle Godwin and Kate Hadfield @ the lilypad have made the most luscious digi kit - Funky Junky : Spring Fling, everything in the kit is just super yummy and I made this card using some of the elements;

Everything is digi apart from MM rub ons and Heidi Swapp chipboard.

*Toot* :)

Last week was a funny old week, a couple of card disasters, one involving the cat and his paw prints and the other involving Jase and dropping of card bits and bobs, and then some really good news - Kate Hadfield asked me to join her creative team :) If you haven't seen the fabulous doodles that Kate designs, pop over to the lilypad to purchase the scrumptiousness :)

These aren't actually the first cards that I have made with Kate's doodles but I can't show the others yet...

And this week has been rather odd so far with Josh being sponsored to look after an egg... Jase helped him decorate it, will take a photo when it returns safely from school :)

Paper Pesto

This weeks dare...

This week dare is an extra special one! Paper Pesto are entirely sponsoring this weeks dare AND providing a spot prize for one of our lucky darer's too!

Just before we show the template and let you all get on with making your fab cards, we'd like to welcome Sue Hyde to the Design Team. Sue joined us as a Guest Designer a few weeks ago and was such an asset that we couldn't let her go! Sue's cards are always beautifully designed and full of detail, she can turn her hand to just about any technique and the amount of care and thought she puts into her work is second to none, she's also the sort of person who will take time to answer questions and willingly share her expertise.
Welcome to the Team Sue, it's fab to have you join us "full-time"!
Okay, so here's the tempting template we would like you to follow, and here's some of the design teams cards based on the template using papers and embellishments from the Paper Pesto January kit. Don't forget, there is a gorgeous spot prize up for grabs, the happy winner will be randomly picked and announced once the week is up, so you have till next friday's new dare is announced to show us your card - you got to be in to win as they say!

I made a rather quick card for me using the yummy bits from Paper Pesto, the only addition is some itty bitty letter stickers and some doodling.

I also made these two for the little extra this week - a tutorial by me!

I used Papermania papers, Making Memories Flowers and brad and lots of doodling :)

You can see the other yummy scrummy cards made by the design team and also check out the doodling tut here

busyness

...and very fab Lost was too :) Feel slightly as if I have wasted 42 mins of my life but hopefully all will be explained at some point....

Have been super busy with loads of crafty bits and bobs, the majority of which I can not share but I can share this little notebook...

I made it for Mum to match the Paperchase teatowels and pen that I bought her - I like the little monsters on them so it only follows that Mum would too? :)

Red and White

This week's Daring Cardmakers dare....

This week's and next week's dare are team dares - and we've decided to go nice and easy on you guys, as the past few dares have been pretty tricky ! This week, we decided on a colour combination for a change. We want you to design a card using only RED AND WHITE on your cards- it doesn't have to be a Valentine themed card - it can be any theme- as long as use incorporate RED and WHITE on it. So there you go ! Not too bad really eh? We look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I really did try to only use red and white but failed rather spectacularly by using black around the flower, black ink and black pen 'faux' stitches....

All the paper is Pink Petticoat, Chewy Stewy and Happiness fonts, Poundland bargainous gem and a CI clear bubble sticker.
