Money Makes the World go Round

This week's theme at Daring Cardmakers' was chosen by the lovely Svenja and is;

Money Makes the World go Round

We'd like to see any kind of money-themed artwork, e.g. cards for money as a present (much needed these days. sigh.), use coins or banknotes or elements on your card, play around with money-themed sentiments or maybe even invent your very own currency!

But most of all... have what money can't buy: fun!

I used money to make my card, I used 2 ten pence pieces to make a penny slider card (or should that be a 20p slider?!)

To make the card, I used; Crate Paper papers, Papermania gems, a Hobbycraft rub on, X Cut die to cut out the slider 'hole', Ikea washi tape, Dovecraft ribbon, Me and My Big Ideas stickers that I purchased a while back in TK Maxx and 2 ten pence pieces.

TFL! and don't forget to check out the cards that the currency related cards that the DT have made!

Do Die-licious!

docrafts have sponsored this week's dare, over at Daring Cardmakers'; we were sent a fantastic parcel of Xcut dies to create with along with some of the new Gorjuss papers.

The Xcut dies are thin and perfect for use on so many different projects, there is a huge variety of dies in all shapes and sizes and fit in most die cutting machines but of course they work like a dream in the new Xpress die-cutting machine.

There is a fantastic prize on offer this week;

and you can see all of the Gorguss creations made by the DT and see all the details of how to enter on the Daring Cardmakers' blog

I used Docrafts papers, dies, letter stickers, Gorjuss tag and decoupage, heart punches and also added a few bits and bobs from stash :)

Additional Challenges;

Fairy Tales

Miri dared us this week over at Daring Cardmakers';

This week I, Miri, invite you to join us in celebrating Ludwig Emil Grimm's birthday.

Create a card that’s inspired by your favourite fairy tale or use a general fairy tale image (castle, princess etc.) on your card.

and this is my card, using The Gingerbread Man as inspiration;

I made a template for the gingerbread man;

and also used Crate Paper and October Afternoon papers, Prima and Kesi'art flowers, Kasiercraft adhesive gems, Ribbon Girl ribbon and some mini baubles from Ikea.

TFL and don't forget to checkout the amazing fairytale based designs from the DT on the Daring Cardmakers' blog :)

You Are Awesome

I made this card for Josh's 12th Birthday :)

 I used inspiration from Virginia's View Challenge #1 which features watercolouring.

I used Photoshop to make the background and sentiment using watercolour brushes, Andreas Typewriter font and a PNG from the love words cut files by IHeartStudio @2peas and added black watercolour smudges and drops.  I also used Kaisercraft adhesive pearls and a mini peg and sequin stars from stash...

 and Jared helped me make this card for his brother;

Which uses Basic Grey, Crate, Pink Paislee, Freckled Fawn wooden embellishments, lots of sequins, Kaisrecraft adhesive pearls some vintage brads and a peel off!

TFL and Happy Birthday Josh!

& Smile :)

The very talented Zuzana chose the colours for the first challenge of the month at Daring Cardmakers;

I've picked this inspirational palette image with light beige, sage green, mint green, olive and peach blush for you.

The challenge is very simple; use these colours and bring the story of this colour palette to your cards!

For my amazingly clean and simple (for me!) card, I used; Basic Grey papers, Studio Calico die cut and sticker, Pink Paislee chipboard and a chalk pen.

TFL and don't forget the check out the amazing ways that the rest of the DT have used the colours on their cards :)
