The one with the homemade embossing paste....

Challenge number two is up at Virginia's View  and this time it's to use stencils;

As I'm not a prolific stamper, I don't have many stencils but I do have this honeycomb laser cut sheet.  Then I realised that I didn't have anything to splodge into it so I made some embossing paste!  I used a mix of Baby Powder, White Acrylic Paint and PVA Glue and mixed it until it looked sort of gloopy... I don't think that there was enough powder in it, but at least I know for next time :)

I added the paste to the stencil on top of some MME paper, left to dry then added some chalk ink and gold perfect pearls.  I made the bee from an oval punch, ultra sticky tape and Doodlebug flock and a heart die for wings.  I also used some letter stickers from stash, a mini peg and AC thickers before adding more MME paper layers and added the whole creation to a card blank made from Bazzil.

Easter Flowers

The current challenge over at The Less is More blog is for a one layer card with shadow stamping and Cute Card Thursday's theme is Easter.

This is my card;

In a break from my usual collage style, I made this CAS card using; Bazzill cardstock, an image that I have had for a good while, combined with a shadow stamped sentiment created from a digi stamp available here using multiple layers in Photoshop. I finished the card with a little bit of ink to compliment the flowers and a Wink of Stella pen to add a teeny bit of sparkle :)

Flag it Up!

The lovely Lythan set the dare this week at Daring Cardmakers';

This week I dare you to

Flag it up!

By which I mean I want you to make a card inspired by a national flag. You can use the flag elements as a sketch, or the colours or a motif (stars and stripes for example) You can be patriotic and use your own flag or show your love for all nations by choosing the flag of a different country.

After making quite a lot a few cards in 2012 for Royal and Olympic occasions, I was flagging a bit with this challenge and then I spied the current challenge on the Case Study Blog, hit a flash of inspiration and made this;

To make it, I used;
Crate Paper papers, Docrafts Bus die and Union Flag ribbon, some Union Flag paper from stash which I think is Dovecraft and a mini peg.

You make me Smile :)

A relatively clean and simple card inspired by this week's challenge at Less is More, A Touch Of Turquoise;

I used AC cardstock, a paint chip, Pebbles washi tape, Freckled Fawn arrow and peg from stash.  I made the sentiment using PS and die cut with with Nesties before adding two teeny tiny googly eyes;
