A Couple of Challenges

'Tis ages since I have participated in the CPS Card sketch challenge, but I thought I would have a go this week;

I made this with; Inspire Me andBo Bunny papers, Note paper, a cardboard box, Poppicrafts ribbon, MM tag, string, Docrafts eyelet, brad and die, BG buttons and pearls, Fiskars punch, Ikea flowers, inking and hand stitching.

And over at The Next Level, the challenge is to use a button and bow on your card;

I made this with; Yellow Notepaper, cardboard, Paperchase image, Bo Bunny ribbon, vintage button, string, inking and stitching.

And finally, A huge THANK YOU to everyone who voted for me in Gallery Idol - I made the final 15!!!! Really really chuffed as all the cards for round one were outstanding.

All things Russian

Rein's wonderful dare this week over at Daring Cardmakers...

It's Rein here this week and as our Russian girl Irina is here staying with us again my dare is put a matryoshka or another typical Russian element like dress, architecture, or... ..... on your card.

I was very tempted to go with a Russian style doll but thought that these may be in abundance this week so went instead with the staple drink of all Russians*.... Vodka!
*Possibly not true!

I used an advert for Vodka found on the interweb, Bazzill card, McCormick font, Star punches, October Afternoon and Cosmo Cricket paper, Vintage buttons and lots of inking.

Gallery Idol Round One

And so the voting begins!!

There are 20 most awesome wedding themed cards in the first round, including one made by me! The 15 with the highest votes will proceed to round two (in an X Factor/Pop Idol stylie) and I would therefore really appreciate your vote!

This is the card that I made;

I used; Bo Bunny and Jenni Bowlin papers, A kraft envelope and cardboard box scrap, Ikea flowers, East of India string and ribbon, Cuttlebug heart die, Bazzill brads, Basic Grey pearls and button, Melissa Frances rub on, Inking and hand stitching.

You can see all the entries here

and you may vote for your favourite HERE

You need to register with the site to place your vote and of course you can vote for any of the cards but I would love it if you vote for mine (I really want to make the top 15!)

If you haven't seen the competition before, here is all in the information (as detailed on the Papercrafts website);

It's back! Paper Crafts is proud to announce that its hugely popular gallery challenge Gallery Idol is back for season three. Last year after eight fierce weeks of competition, we named Nancy Cienfuegos from Orlando, Florida our season two winner. Now we're ready to induct the next paper crafter extraordinaire! Are you ready to win?

Based on Fox's hit TV show American Idol, our version will have readers submitting themed projects every week in hopes of becoming the grand prize idol winner. And just like our TV counterpart, online viewers will vote each week with only the best contestants with the best submissions moving forward in the competition to the next round.

The best part... the perks! Every time a contestant makes it through to the next round, she/he will each receive a fabulous prize package!

This year for our "Open Auditions" round, 276 members submitted 1,254 birthday cards for 20 coveted spots! It was an agonizing decision, but we're confident we got it right with this batch of 20 gals. Their first challenge is to create a wedding card for round one. Voting will begin at noon on Monday, July 6 and run through noon on Thursday, July 9. Make sure you check back here during these times to see all of the Top 20's wedding cards and to vote on your favorite one.

Let the competition begin!

Blue and Green....

The lovely Vanessa set this week's dare to make a card using blue and green - blue and green should never be seen, or should they?!

I used Cosmo Cricket Early Bird papers (It is fun using non Chistmas papers to make a festive card), May Arts ribbon, October Afternoon die cut, Bazzill brad, Melissa Frances rub on, inking, Papermania border die, hand cut holly and a Poppicrafts flower.

TFL and have a fabby weekend!
