Science Fiction

Svenja dared this week @ Daring Cardmakers' with a brilliant dare;

It's Svenja here with a new challenge for you:
I have the ominous 42 to celebrate today and it's towel day on Monday. Two good reasons to celebrate the works of the great Douglas Adams with some
science fiction...

I made the background and dalek in PS to create this Whovian printable;

added some washi tape - made in PS and printed onto tracing paper;

and added a Dymo printed label :)

Monochrome Rainbow

This little pickle is teething;

so not much crafting going on, but I did have time for Beckie's brilliant Monochrome Rainbow dare @ Daring Cardmakers'

I used Bazzill cardstock, sequins from stash, watercolour background made in PS and coloured a flower, thread and Sizzix die cut leaf with ProMarkers.

 Being up in the small hours has meant a bit of time to continue with this;

Inspired by Lisa's amazing creation, I started this a while ago and it is growing slowly :)  It's Sophies CAL - the pattern is here :)

Something Green... and pointy... and Arrow-y

Nat dared us this week at Daring Cardmakers' - her dare is inspired by her current TV obsession: Arrow :)

This is my card;

I used Heidi Swapp and BG papers, Crate Paper arrow sticker with added ProMarker colouring, L'il Inker die from Make the Day Special and a computer generated sentiment.

the children;

inform me that the stars are a bit Marvel rather than DC :)

and here are the details of the challenge;

My challenge to you is to feature arrows on your card this week. They are a very current design trend in the crafting industry right now - lots of stamps, dies, papers are featuring arrows.

I would love to see you whether you can interpret anything else from Arrow into your cards - like the colour green (as Oliver Queen knows, it's not easy being green), a nod to the Starling city skyline, comic book super heroes, Felicity Smoak's iconic glasses, somehow getting the word Sinceriously on your card...

Whatever you go with, there has to be at least one arrow on your card!

You can see the DT's brilliant Arrow inspired cards on the Daring Cardmakers' blog :)

also entering this card into Make the Day Special's April Challenge, Tic Tac Toe;

To use a line of items from the grid - I went diagonal and used stripes, circles and Metallic :)

TFL!

I Like Pie

It's my turn to dare this week at Daring Cardmakers' and unlike the title, there's no cooking involved :)

The idea for this dare started when we travelled 'up north' and spied this on the M6;

and evolved into;

I Like Pi(e)!
I would like to see maths themed cards featuring graphics; Pie Charts, Venn Diagrams, Bar Graphs etc,

and I made this;

It uses Heidi Swapp and Kesi'art papers, jute from Hobby Craft, DMC thread and a Paper Smooches die.

TFL - and don't forget to have a look at the Daring Cardmaker's blog - the Design Team really have shown that maths can be fun :)
