Looking back a little....

This week's little extra....

This weeks little extra.......is all about looking back a little ...at last weeks dare ! Yes really, we want you choose a card from one of the design teams previous Friday dare and come up with a card using one or two of the same elements. tricky... !
Don't forget- there is still time to join in the this week's 'foiled' dare and possibly win a prize from Paper Pesto ! and if you really still have time on your hands ...............

I had one of *those* moments and got completely confused... I managed to use elements from previous dares then realised that it should have been from last Friday's dare... but yay! Jane's card has little flowers on it too so I will pretend that I can read and all is well....

I used DCWV papers, MM brad, doodling (lots of!) inking, Doodlebug and Prima flowers, Cosmo Cricket chipboard and Poundland gem.

Foiled....again!

Made another card yesterday for this week's dare using foil....rather appropriate as Josh came out of school as 'star of the day' :)

I used Basic Grey paper, Sizzix star die - used the negative to cut out the outlines, MM rub ons and ribbon, Papermania brad, more foil, scrunched and coiled, doodling and inking.

Foiled!

My turn to dare this week :)

My dare this week is 'Foiled!' -I would like you to utilise some plain old aluminium (aluminum for our friends across the pond!) foil from your kitchen :). You can scrunch it, die cut it, emboss it, ink it, coil it, cover chipboard - or anything else that you choose!

I used DCWV paper, Cuttlebug hearts die, Melissa Frances rub on, Prima flower, MM brad, doodling, inking and of course aluminium foil :)

A big, big thank you to all the DCM girls who stepped in so quickly on Tuesday - and huge sympathy to those who have or have had *that* bug :)

Hide and Seek

Kathy's dare this week...

Okay, for my dare we're heading to the playground for a game of
Hide & Seek
I'd like you to make a card which has a hidden component of some sort.
The hidden part could be a tag, a concealed photo, message or something along those lines, maybe a pull-out or pop-up.

Anything goes as long as there's something extra for the recipient to find on your card that's not immediately visible when they open the envelope.
The Design Team have made some fab cards to help get you thinking - but you'll have to visit their personal blogs to see the hidden extra!

Still not understanding the new camera - seem to be taking very grainy pictures at the mo so apologies for the piccie quality...

remove the ribbon banding et voila...

I used Pink Petticoat papers, Doodlebug chipboard, Paperchase and CI ribbon, Poundland gems, American Crafts rub ons and a MM brad.

If anyone knows how to make photo's less grainy - please let me know lol!

Mid week Tribute

'Now, as you are probably aware, both Lynne and Gillian sadly stepped down from the Design team recently, and all though the DCM team's door is always open for them, we thought it would be nice to pay a little tribute to them in appreciation for all their wonderful work during their time on the DCM design team. Lythan came up with an idea that we make a card in the 'style' of either Lynne or Gillian's cards. Or maybe pick your favourite of theirs and use an element from their cards on your own card. Everyone has their own style- we thought it might be a little challenge to try out a different style for a change!

Once again we on the design team would like to wish Gillian and Lynne well on their new ventures and hope to maybe see them joining us for the occasional dare in the future, time permitting.'

I cased one of Lynne's fabulous cards;

and made this;

I did cheat a little and 'faux' stitched everything - both Lynne and Gillians cards always have the bestest sewing on them. I also used Basic Grey paper, MM brad, doodling and inking.

This week's Dare....

Hiya fellow darers, Jane here ! How are you all ? This weeks dare is a hard one !! Sorry everyone, but it had to be done !! :)

I want you to create not just one but TWO cards ! But wait........there's more ! I want both cards to contain the same embellishments and papers, ribbons etc- but arranged in a different way for a different occasion....the only thing being different is the wording....I'll let you have different wording ! (How nice of me eh?) I'm well aware this is a really hard challenge, and that I have thrown everyone into 2008 off the deep end....but go on- give it a go - I DARE YOU !

We have the very talented Sue Hyde as our Guest Designer for the next couple of weeks, Sue's work is always beautiful and her attention to detail is second to none.

I made these two cards....apologies for the photos not being the best, the old and trusty camera finally gave up just before Christmas and I am struggling a little with the new one :)

I used
Ki Memories papers and matching Bazzill
MM brads
Prima flowers
Dymo and rub on lettering
Inking and Doodling

Hello...

A rather belated......to everyone :) We had a fairly quiet lager and curry night with our friends in Leamington.

I have (as per usual:)) been busy I finished 2 commissions for Friday and another 2 for Monday. We all had a touch of the flu probably more of a heavy cold but one of those that seems to linger - and flu always sounds better :)...

I have made these though that I can share, the first being for the current Daring Cardmakers Dare - New.

and another for the little extra to use some Santa sent stash - the stash that arrived was from a secret santa type *waves at Lythan* and was amazingly super bright lush and amazingly strokingly gorgeous - thank you Santa :).

One for my BIL who passed his test this week *waves and says yay* - mainly made with fonts and photoshop.

And a little card just to say hello :)

and finally some really fantastic news - my little tag was chosen in the Papercrafts Gallery as one of their projects of the month :)
