Setting the Scene

This week's Dare over at Daring Cardmakers' is an extra special one - chosen by the very talented Sharon and sponsored by Docrafts with their brilliant Build a Scene Dies;
"It's Sharon here to set this weeks challenge and this week we have a fabulous prize on offer thanks to Docrafts!
Firstly, the challenge - the theme is:
 Setting the Scene
 We'd like you to make your card your canvas for creating your own miniature world!  The theme is totally your choice and you can use whatever you like to create your scene - die cuts, stamps, embellishments - but please use various elements for the 'scene', don't just use one stamp!
Our challenge this week is sponsored by Xcut – the exciting die-cutting and tool range from Docrafts. The winner of the challenge can choose one of the 4 exciting new sets of Build-A-Scene Dies each worth £19.95. Each set features a collection of dies that work together to let you build up layered designs to create a beautiful or fun scene! Choose from Vintage Hot Air Balloon, Nautical, Garden Party or London."

I was lucky enough to get the Garden Party set to play with and made this;

Wonderful

I used Crate Paper and Papermania papers, Crate chipboard and stickers, Ribbon Girl flowers and Papermania stickers and gems.

Thanks for visiting, please go and see the fabulous little pieces of art that the DT have made with all the dies from the range on the Daring Cardmakers blog, they are absolutely fantastic!

Feeling green

Jozza's turn to set an amazing dare over at DCM this week;

The dare is feeling green. I want to see lots of green on your cards in any shade you like. You could even do a double dare and make a green themed get well card. It's up to you.

Idon't usually use a lot of green but this was a super fun dare :) I didn't manage to make a get well card but did 'go green' by recycling some wrapping paper to make it! This card was made for J's Dad's birthday - Jared chose the dino from the paper to use for the main image.

Paperchase wrapping paper, Papermania brads and stars, Core'dinaions cardstock, inking.
TFL and have a fab weekend!

Golden oldies......

We have a team dare this week, and we were thinking.....with so many new things /latest papers/ trendy stuff constantly coming on the market, we thought it would be nice to have a look back, and dig out some of our 'old' papers and embellishments and make a card with our 'preloved' treasures. I think the tendency these days is to get on the 'latest must have' band wagon, sometimes, its nice to recognise what we already have- even if it isn't the 'latest' embellishment/paper.

Luckily no pictures have survived of my first forays into the world of cardmaking but.... there was a time that everything that I made came complete with a little bear.... so I have revisited the past and made a 'beary special' card for this week's dare.

Paper is Crate paper, Cuttlebug embossed Core'dinations cardstock, Docraft brad, Hobbycraft ribbon, Prima flowets and hand cut bear.

Products....

I was lucky enough to receive a freebie in the form of 3L Scrapbook Adhesive EZ Runner from Design Objectives.....

1. How often do you use adhesive?
Every time I make a card :)
2. What is the main type of adhesive you use?
DS tape or a glue stick, or both! Sometimes use Glossy Accents if it needs to be a super duper strong bond
3. What do you look for in an adhesive?
Something that is strong and not going to lose it's stickiness quickly, needs to be easy to use and easy to store.
4. How easy is the product to remove from its packaging?
Very easy - infact so easy Jared 'helped' to remove it from it's packaging
5. Does the product appeal to you – i.e. does it look good?
It looked better that the normal adhesive that I use :) It is nice and compact.
6. How easy is the product to use?
Very easy- it can be used for sticking big and small bits and was amazingly easy to apply.
7. How well does the product perform?
The action was very smooth and all seems to have been stuck firmly
8. Do you like this product?
I did like it - not a product type that I have used before but worked well.
9. Do you consider it good value for money?
hmmm not really as I normally but DS tape for a lot less.
10. Would you consider buying this product in the future?
Prolly not due to the cost as I use alot of DS tape and this put me off.
11. What would make you more likely to buy this product in the future?
If the price was reduced.
12. What would make you less likely to buy this product in the future?
The cost.

and also got these rather yummy brads, ribbon and bits and bobs from Docrafts :)
