Just a quick one!

Bondgirl's dare this week....

I want you to make a QUICK CARD! a card that takes you no more than hmm say 30 minutes max to do - start to finish. No set ingredients and pick your own theme, but be quick and be crafty!


Mine took..... 10 mins on PS and 10 mins for adding of bling so a grand total of 20 minutes :)
I used Peppermint Creative male, female and heart images, Pink Petticoat papers and lots of bling!

Sue set the fabulous dare this week....

I’m sure that most of us girlies had a bead box when we were little and if you were like me, would spend hours sorting and swapping them with friends. Come to think of it, things haven’t changed that much because I still have a box of beads and I’m hoping that you do too.

For my dare this week I would like you to make a card that incorporates beads somewhere in the design…..it’s as easy as that!
It can be one bead, lots of beads, big beads, and small beads, whatever you like as long as there’s at least one on your card somewhere.

Red and White

This week's Daring Cardmakers dare....

This week's and next week's dare are team dares - and we've decided to go nice and easy on you guys, as the past few dares have been pretty tricky ! This week, we decided on a colour combination for a change. We want you to design a card using only RED AND WHITE on your cards- it doesn't have to be a Valentine themed card - it can be any theme- as long as use incorporate RED and WHITE on it. So there you go ! Not too bad really eh? We look forward to seeing what you come up with.



I really did try to only use red and white but failed rather spectacularly by using black around the flower, black ink and black pen 'faux' stitches....

All the paper is Pink Petticoat, Chewy Stewy and Happiness fonts, Poundland bargainous gem and a CI clear bubble sticker.

Hide and Seek

Kathy's dare this week...

Okay, for my dare we're heading to the playground for a game of
Hide & Seek
I'd like you to make a card which has a hidden component of some sort.
The hidden part could be a tag, a concealed photo, message or something along those lines, maybe a pull-out or pop-up.
Anything goes as long as there's something extra for the recipient to find on your card that's not immediately visible when they open the envelope.
The Design Team have made some fab cards to help get you thinking - but you'll have to visit their personal blogs to see the hidden extra!

Still not understanding the new camera - seem to be taking very grainy pictures at the mo so apologies for the piccie quality...

remove the ribbon banding et voila...


I used Pink Petticoat papers, Doodlebug chipboard, Paperchase and CI ribbon, Poundland gems, American Crafts rub ons and a MM brad.

If anyone knows how to make photo's less grainy - please let me know lol!

Hello...

A rather belated......to everyone :) We had a fairly quiet lager and curry night with our friends in Leamington.

I have (as per usual:)) been busy I finished 2 commissions for Friday and another 2 for Monday. We all had a touch of the flu probably more of a heavy cold but one of those that seems to linger - and flu always sounds better :)...

I have made these though that I can share, the first being for the current Daring Cardmakers Dare - New.



and another for the little extra to use some Santa sent stash - the stash that arrived was from a secret santa type *waves at Lythan* and was amazingly super bright lush and amazingly strokingly gorgeous - thank you Santa :).



One for my BIL who passed his test this week *waves and says yay* - mainly made with fonts and photoshop.



And a little card just to say hello :)



and finally some really fantastic news - my little tag was chosen in the Papercrafts Gallery as one of their projects of the month :)

This weeks dare is another team dare :)...

'Hi All. Today we have decided to revisit your most favourite dares of 2007. The four top dares, decided by the number of comments you made on them are (in no particular order): 'buttons', 'ribbons', ...'and cut' and 'frames'. We would like to use this week as many of those dares as you like to make your card in any theme and any style.'

I managed to combine all 4 dares using a hand cut frame, buttons and ribbon :) Papers are Pink Petticoat and I added some doodling and inking...

Charley says....

Still catching up.... I made this card a while ago and did not manage to upload it... Lythan set such a wonderful dare a while back to make a card portraying a song without using the actual song on the card- and here is mine :)

It is of course based on the song 'Charley Says' by the Prodigy - which I would link to but am really not sure if there are any dodgy words in it. The song was in turn based upon the rather fab series of 70's Public Service Information adverts. There are loads on youtube but my most favouritist has to be the one warning you not to play with teapots...

I used Charlie and Lola printables from the cbeebies website and made the sentiment with trust this one and courier fonts.

Made this one too for the festive season...


and... have been super busy with knitting sticks (as Jared calls them) to make a few scarves - and created some little funky labels with Pink Petticoat papers and the help of Photoshop to add the writing...

Inside and Out

Tis the amazing Gillian's turn to dare this week :)...

'Hi everyone Gillian here, and it's my turn to dare you all this week

I dare you to take the design of your card to the inside as well as the outside.

Add a little finishing touch to match the theme on the outside,
or Surprise the receiver with a flap, foldout, decorated journal block to write on,
or one of those pop-out delights....
It really adds so much to a card when there is attention to detail on the inside
as well as the outside. I know some of you are finished your Christmas cards already
so this week it's Any theme, Christmas or not
But make the inside count too :)'

I made a criss cross card so you can see the inside from the front too :) ...

I am still here :)

Just been super duper busy - tis that mad season of the year lol! I had this brilliant plan to blog much more during December then we all got one of those bugs and so my master plan got waylaid....

This week's little extra is Tag Time....

I used Pink Petticoat papers, Queen and Co and Prima flowers and lots of doodling... :)

I also made a matching bow

- and here is how I made it (I know that I am not the first to do this but this is the way that I set about it :)

Take some papers - I use Pink Petticoat...

Cut 8 strips to measure 2.5 cm by 15 cm and 4 strips to measure 2.5 cm by 12.5 cm.

Doodle 8 stripey bits on some paper...

Curl each strip around on itself and adhere with DST

Add a doodled strip and adhere with more DST - you can use this to stick them all together later on :)

Stick all of the strips together...

Adhere four pieces in to a star shape...

Assemble the remaining strips and add little strips of paper...

Layer the 2 big stars together...

Add the final star shape...

Add a little flower in the centre....et voila :)


And a couple of cards - this first I made for Rhi's fabulous birdy dare...

And a Stripey one for Saffa's dare...

Tagaroonied

I got tagged by the lovely, Anne Now I've got 5 questions to answer:

1. If you could have 100.00 worth of scrapbook paper or assorted embellishments, which would you choose?

Hmmmm I think I would have to go for the papers as they can then be used to make embellies (if that is allowed lol)

2. If you had to choose between using only stamps or rubons, which would you choose?

Hahaha. I am the worst stamper in the world so rub ons win hands down.

3. If you knew how to do both awesome cards and layouts but could only do one for a whole year...which would you do?

Cards :) Not yet attempted scrapbooking (apart from some scrappy cards with piccies on) So definitely think I would prefer to make cards for the year.

4. Would you rather own a scrapbooking store or have your own scrapping room at home...(can't have both he he he)

I guess if you had a scrapstore then you would have your own little place to scrap, not too sure how much time you would get to make anything so will have to go for room at home although my dining room will suffice for the mean time :)

5. And last but not least, what is your CURRENT cardmaking or scrapping style....Now this can be tough to nail down!

Do I have a style? Don't know, if hard pressed I would probably call it randomness lol.

I made a card for My Mum and Dad to give to Auntie Margaret and Uncle Ken to celebrate their Wedding Anniversary.

2) I have 'shoulder dimples'....so does my sister, never met anyone else with them though...
3) I like drinking tomato juice, coffee and those posh chocolatey drinks with cream on from Starbucks
4) My fav programme (at the mo.) is Prison Break, with Heroes coming a close second.
5) Apart from Sleeping and Bathing, I live in my pink crocs.
6) I don't have a middle name.
7) If I had a big enough garden, I would like a pet cow.

Ribbons Galore

'We've another special dare this week. Bea from Ribbon Oasis is sponsoring a challenge to use her fabbylicious range of Christmassy ribbons on our cards. So Lucky Us - we all received an envelope full of ribbons to play with and below you'll find the cards we've made (so far!)

Our Amazing Circle Of Friends

This week's dare is rather special as it marks the 1st Anniversary of the Daring Cardmakers Blog :)

The subject is, as in our original dare "friends", but this time the title is
CIRCLE of FRIENDS
and we'd like you to incorporate at least one circle into your card.

It would make it a very special occasion if for this dare you'd make a card just for the DCM rather than doubling up with other challenges.

Long time no blog...

....been super busy recently.... Josh is back at school now

and Jared has now entered the education system by starting preschool - it is integrated into Josh's school which is super handy for dropping off and picking up :)

and... I finally made a card for this week's dare...

So, we'd like you to make and show a Christmas card which incorporates the following:

The colour Purple
AND
It has to have at least one hole somewhere in the design!
