Thank you all so much for the really encouraging comments, I do feel lots better about my cards this week - havn't made much so far apart from this week's little extra which I will show in a mo...

A couple of piccies first from last weekend...

We stayed in the Holiday Inn Eastleigh and had a brilliant weekend - apart from the service at the hotel which was soooo poor, kinda like the parents had all gone away and left the children in charge... oh and a nasty lady called Jared a girl (I'm sure she was not actually nasty but it has probably reaffirmed Mum's opinion that his hair needs chopping...)

and yesterday we went to the Zoo...

There do not seem to be as many 'big' animals at Bristol Zoo now as I remember but the boys had a fantastic time - we went on the train with Nan and Grandad so they were very excited :)

and... "You Big Softie"
We want you to use something soft on your card feathers, velvet paper, fluffy fibres
all that soft, strokable stuff counts for this one and that's it, easy-peasy, lemon-squeezy!

All the paper is from Kirsty's Betty Loves Adrian little kit - you can down load it from her bloggy blog here ; My soft bit is some wool that I finger knitted to make thicker and arranged in a floral manner; I also used a Bazzill brad and some poppers.

A Trio of Welsh Barbers...

Lovely Lythan's dare this week....

As a reward for all the brain power that went into the Little Extra this week, this is a simple one. From simple Lythan
With a cryptic clue.
Which, as I discovered to my embarrassment, when I laid it on the team, is only really possible to understand if you live in the UK. And even better, are Welsh.
So... a trio of Welsh Barbers means that on your card you need to have 3 die cuts!
( Dai is a common Welsh nickname for David and as there are a lot of Dai's around they are known by their jobs so a Welsh barber would be known as Dai Cuts. I'll get my coat.)

LOL!

Here be mine...

Supplies;
3 different cuttlebug dies; Heidi Swapp chipboard letters; Pink Petticoat and 7Gypsies papers; Bazzill brads; Primas; circle punches and ribbon - the loopy one is from Little Silver Hat but not too sure on the stripy one... :)

Also made this card yesterday destined for Jase's Grandad...

Supplies;
Kirsty Wiseman's digi papers; Creative Impressions photo hanger; Beestings font (can't remember what the other one is and I only made it yesterday...); brad from stash and faux stitching.

and... I made a bear! Don't think I have made one of these (as Jared would say) 'so cute' little creatures since I wrote the how to article for Papercraft Inspirations...

Supplies;
Bazzill cardstock; Pink petticoat doodles; Rebekah's Birthday font; chalking and inking.

more digi-ness

The first two cards are made with Kirsty's very very luscious new kit -'tis so very fab. You can find the link to download it on Kirsty's blog. Kirsty is soooo talented and super generous by sharing her most marvellous creations to all.

The first one, I changed the blue to pink - not by any miraculous means but by just using the paint bucket tool in Photoshop as that is where my technical knowledge starts and ends...

The second is the card that I made for Dad for his birthday - it comes complete with a triple embossed star - at last I have found a use for embossing powder that I can manage...

Both have doodles - I scanned some drawings and used Photoshop to colour them :) - If anyone can tell me how to do it (and if anyone would like(!)) I can upload the doodles to share...

and...
Kathy had come up with a wonderful little extra this week - Dot Dot Dot Dash Dash Dash - 'We'd like you to make a card featuring dots and dashes, spots and stripes'. Yummy.

I used Pink Petticoat papers, Doodlebug and hand cut flower, doodled stripes and a doodled cake, again, coloured in PS.

digi doodles...

Been playing with doodles and photoshop... It started with the card that I made for the now newly weds - Congratulations Matt and Rhi! Background paper is Pink Petticoat and Ribbon is from Paperchase and Creative Impressions. The frilly stuff is fab and means that it also fits the current Daring Cardmakers Dare.

It was Dad's Birthday yesterday *waves to Dad* We popped over for posh afternoon tea with homemade yummy scrummy scones (made by Mum, not me lol!) with lashings of Jam and Cream. Lush. I can't show one of the cards that I made yet but here is the one that I made for Nan and Grandad to give to Dad...The card is straight in real life! I used a 2peas Tia Bennett freebie kit - Dude Totally for the paper, VTKS Beauty and Olympique fonts, a Jason Gaylor Brush and a chipboard circle and Dovecraft Big Brad. The star on the bottom left is triple embossed but I am not convinced that it shows in the piccie...

Have been playing with the most amazing paper that Kirsty Wiseman has designed, you can see a sneaky peek on her blog... tis very yummy :)

Beady Eyed

This week's dare.....

Well this week is my dare (Saffa). Its quite a simple challenge really. All I ask is that you make use of beads on your cards. They can be seed beads, big chunky beads or little sequins, whatever takes your fancy.

Phew! there is a sequin option which I eagerly jumped upon as beads are so not my forté!
All the paper is from one of Kirsty's most mavellous digi kits - Moulin Rouge.
Queen and Co mini Brads and Sequins, Paper Ribbon from Paperchase Prima Flower and Bazzill Brad. The overlay around the edge of the card is from A Spoonful Of Sprinkles.

It is fab to have the very talented Sheila joining us as a guest designer, she is the most amazing stamper and papercrafter and her cards are always fantastic!

Make sure you check out the other DT cards over on the blog :)

Today is Lythan's Birthday....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

And I made this *grins*

I am so glad that Lythan liked it :) I used the CPS 19 sketch as a template.

and.... Yesterday was Jase's step-niece's Birthday so I made this for her :) - I used Sue's template from the JustBex forum...

Man Cards...

I always forget to upload bits and bobs that I have made for Papercraft Inspirations, I made a card today though that was kinda based on a topper that I made for them a while ago. The toppers appeared in last month's mag and as the new issue is now out, I'm guessing that it is okay to show :)

and the card? Well it ties in nicely with the DCM little extra this week;

This week we have a recipe challenge for the Little Extra. There's an old rhyme that tells brides what they should wear on their wedding day to be sure of good luck, it goes:
Something Old
Something New
Something Borrowed
and Something Blue

This week we'd like you to incorporate these four things into your card -
It doesn't have to be a Wedding card, despite the verse - just as long as your card features each of those things on it.
Borrowed could be borrowed from another card, some ribbon from a chocolate box, a tiny piece "borrowed" from a child's hair ribbon, even a postage stamp from an old envelope, it could also be an item or technique borrowed from a different crafty sphere...And before you ask - whilst you're allowed to use a sewing machine to make your card - it CAN'T be your borrowed item - as that would be just TOO EASY and this is supposed to be a challenge, isn't it! hehehe

Something Old....... Buttons from a Charity Shop
Something New....... Fantastic new today digi papers
Something Borrowed.. Aha Kathy - I used HAND stitching as machine is banned...
Something Blue...... Colour of the paper.

The papers are from Kirsty Wiseman's most marvellous digi kit

You can download them via her blog.
and I made this card with a homemade skull and boney bits using Di Hickman's sketch;

and Jared made this;
